ToNoWaste International Online Conference on Local Policies to Prevent and Reduce Food Loss and Waste

On 17 March 2026, the ToNoWaste project will host an International Online Conference on Local Policies to Prevent and Reduce Food Loss and Waste (FLWPR). The conference will take place online via Microsoft Teams from 10:00 to 14:00 CET and will bring together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and civil society actors from across Europe.

The conference will present and discuss the results of four Local Policy Workshops organised within the ToNoWaste project between November 2025 and February 2026 in Austria, Greece, Spain and Sweden. These workshops explored successful local strategies, challenges and lessons learned in preventing and reducing food loss and waste.

During the conference, participants will:

  • compare local policies and strategies for food loss and waste prevention and reduction across different European contexts;
  • reflect on positive and negative experiences emerging from the local workshops;
  • discuss proposals for best practices and policy recommendations that can support local communities across Europe.
