The SOGRES-MF research group at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI, a partner of ToNoWaste)
presents a methodology for selecting the optimal configuration—from the perspective of strong
sustainability—for a technological solution aimed at reducing food waste.
The SOGRES-UJI methodology is applied to assess the environmental, social and economic
impacts (in impact units) associated with the reduction solution, generating a results matrix.
The solution’s configurations are defined according to variables such as pump power, operating
hours, flow rate, pressure, auxiliary consumption, maintenance hours, number of PET trays,
metres of LDPE film, operator hours, etc.
