València Innovation Capital (VIC), as part of its citizen participation campaigns, developed a
street marketing action aimed at guiding and improving, through practice, participants’
decisions on food storage. This action was replicated both in November 2025 and April 2026.
The first edition took place next to the central market of the city of València, and the second, at
the agroecological market held at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
The activity consists of a recreation of a simulated kitchen with different zones (pantry,
countertop, fridge with freezer, recycling bins), using simple materials such as cardboard, fruit
boxes, or cardstock. Each participant receives a basket of food and must decide, within a limited
time, how to correctly store it in each zone of the kitchen. Meanwhile, a facilitator observes their
decisions and, at the end, provides personalised feedback with practical storage
recommendations. In each edition, more than 50 people of diverse ages took part.
