The Municipality of Halandri (Dimos Chalandriou) is one of the biggest in the metropolitan Athens area (Greece). Its population is approximately 100.000 inhabitants. Home to numerous small business enterprises ranging from restaurants to all day café bistros, Halandri is known for its bustling commercial centre that acts as a main attraction point for visitors throughout the year. Geographically it is situated in the north-eastern part of Attica near mountain Penteli and one of the northern suburbs of Attica with a riverbank that is open in many spots creating idyllic countryside views. The ancient Hadriant’s aqueduct also crosses Halandri. This mix of urban and rural environment makes the Municipality one of the most desired places to live in Athens offering good quality of life for its residents. The profile of an average citizen is characterized by an increased cultural level and social responsibility.
